York racecourse is only 3 miles away and the rest of the city's attractions are equally close by including the famous York Minster, York Dungeons, Castle museum, Shambles, Jorvik Viking Centre and the National Railway Museum.
The Red Lion has a newly refurbished restaurant with rosette starred chef Andy Holt serving superb a la carte meals, plus a fantastic steak and bistro style menu served throughout the day and evening. All produce is sourced locally with our meats coming from Waterford Farm, Ripon. Residents of the hotel can also enjoy a full English breakfast and Yorkshire hospitality during their stay.

Our accommodation consists of 18 comfortable, well-appointed bedrooms – a number of which have been refurbished to a high standard this year.
